Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using shortopen ("Website", "Service", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. No Financial or Betting Advice; Informational Purposes Only
All content, win probabilities, Expected Value (+EV) calculations, grades, payout estimates, and statistical models provided on shortopen are model-generated estimates intended strictly for informational and entertainment purposes.
- shortopen is not a sportsbook, does not accept or process wagers, and does not handle user funds.
- Content on this site does not constitute financial advice, investment advice, or betting recommendations.
- You assume full responsibility for any wagering decisions made with third-party operators.
3. Independent Research Tool; No Advisory or Fiduciary Relationship
shortopen is a self-directed research and comparison tool. It surfaces publicly available odds, statistics, and model-generated estimates side by side so you can compare them yourself — it does not control, direct, instruct, or compel any action you take, and it does not know or evaluate your personal, financial, or legal circumstances.
- Using shortopen does not create any advisory, fiduciary, agency, or professional relationship between you and shortopen.
- shortopen never places a bet, opens an account, or moves money on your behalf, and never requires or asks you to act on anything shown on the Service.
- Any comparison, "edge," signal, or observation shortopen surfaces is exactly that — an observation about publicly available data — not a directive, and shortopen exercises no control over whether, when, or how you use it.
4. Simulated Tools: Casino, Market, Bet Slip & Lineup Features
shortopen includes interactive features — including but not limited to its casino-style section, market/game-card tools, bet slip simulator, and lineup optimizer/simulator — that are illustrative simulations built for research, education, and entertainment only.
- No real money is wagered, deposited, withdrawn, staked, or at risk anywhere on shortopen, regardless of how a feature is labeled or how it visually resembles a sportsbook, casino, or wagering product.
- Any "odds," "payout," "winnings," "chip," or similar figure shown inside a simulator is a hypothetical, model-generated number for illustration only — it is not a real transaction, balance, or offer, and does not represent money you have won, lost, or can withdraw.
- These tools do not simulate every rule, fee, limit, or condition a real operator would apply, and results inside a simulator should never be treated as a prediction of what would happen with real money at a real sportsbook or casino.
5. Model Estimates Are Not Fact; You Make Your Own Decisions
Every probability, projection, grade, "fair value," Expected Value (+EV) figure, ranking, and similar output on shortopen is a statistical estimate generated by an automated model — it is an opinion derived from data, not a fact, not a guarantee, and not a prediction shortopen warrants to be accurate. These estimates can change at any time, without notice, as underlying data, prices, or the model itself changes, and a past estimate is never a promise about a future one.
- Models can be wrong, incomplete, based on stale or limited data, or fail to account for information a reasonable person would consider material.
- shortopen does not verify, and is not responsible for, the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any odds, price, or statistic pulled from a third-party source and displayed or used in a model output.
- Any decision you make — including whether, where, or how much to wager with an independent third-party operator — is made entirely at your own discretion and your own risk, based on your own independent verification. shortopen is not a party to, and accepts no responsibility or liability for, that decision or its outcome.
6. No Warranties
The Service and all content on it are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including without limitation any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. shortopen does not warrant that any model, estimate, projection, or piece of content is correct, current, or complete, and expressly disclaims any responsibility for outcomes resulting from reliance on it.
7. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Limitation of Liability & Arbitration
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, shortopen and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages of any kind, including without limitation financial losses, betting losses, lost profits, or lost opportunity, arising from your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Service — even if shortopen has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
In no event shall shortopen's total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service exceed the greater of (a) $100.00 USD or (b) the amount actually paid by you to shortopen in the twelve (12) months prior to the claim. If you have never paid shortopen anything, this cap is $100.00 USD.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless shortopen and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) any decision you make or action you take, including any wager placed with a third-party operator; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
10. Binding Arbitration and Class Action Waiver
Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights.
- Mandatory Arbitration: You agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the use of shortopen shall be settled by binding individual arbitration rather than in court.
- Waiver of Class Actions: You and shortopen agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding.
Affiliate Disclosure
11. No Current Affiliate Relationships
shortopen does not currently host or link to any third-party sportsbook, casino, or gaming-operator product, and does not currently receive referral fees, commissions, or other compensation tied to sports betting or gambling activity of any kind. shortopen has never accepted, held, or processed money from you or any user.
12. If That Changes
Should shortopen add an outbound link to a sportsbook, casino, or affiliate partner in the future, we will comply with Federal Trade Commission guidelines (16 CFR Part 255): any material financial connection will be disclosed clearly and conspicuously, in immediate proximity to the affected link, before you click it — not only in this policy. Compensation of that kind, if it ever exists, would never influence our automated statistical models, win probabilities, or +EV calculations.
13. State Jurisdiction & Age Restrictions
shortopen does not accept, process, or facilitate wagers of any kind, and nothing on this site is an offer, solicitation, or facilitation of gambling in any jurisdiction. Sports betting regulations vary by state and country.
- If you choose to use information from shortopen while placing a wager with a separate, independent, licensed operator, you are solely responsible for verifying the legal status, age requirements (typically 21+ in the United States), and licensing of sports betting in your local jurisdiction beforehand.
- shortopen is not licensed as, and does not operate as, a gambling operator, bookmaker, or wagering platform. We do not accept wagers, process gambling-related financial transactions, or hold customer funds.
14. Responsible Gaming & Problem Gambling Resources
shortopen strictly supports responsible gambling practices. Gambling should always be treated as a form of entertainment, not a source of income or financial recovery.
